Brilliant. Thank you very much for your time and effort.
Thank you. That's much appreciated.
It was so much ahead of it's time. I still use it as a recorder and interface.
I use Monitor+. The free is already good for free monitor and control the camera parameters. The pro has all the features from a pro monitor. Only 24$
thank you so much!
Does it work on iphone??
If it has a USB port, i.e. iPhone 15, then yes I think it should.
what if i want to use 1 xlr input and the stereo mics, can i just select 4 channel without putting in a second xlr input?
You can use one or botyh XLR inputs, that's up to you. Put the recorder into multifile mode and you'll get a stereo file from the X/Y mics and a mono file from your one XLR input (you may also get a blank second mono file for the unused input, but that depends). Good luck.
I'm a beginner can I use this setup for photo too or just video?
This set up displays your camera's screen on your phone and I have used it to give me a larger display when shooting landscape images (helpful to compose and focus). Don't, however, save the images by taking a snapshot on your phone. Save the images to your camera's SD card as usual, since the resolution will be much higher.
I need look this Thank you very much 🫡
You're welcome.
What kind of USB do you use? Mine doesn't fit.
Thank you )))
Thank you!
Bummed! Got everything but didn't work. It is from a Panasonic to an Android, so I don't know if it a Panasonic issue. Anyway, enjoy your straightforward approach. New sub!
Sorry to hear this didn't work for you, but glad you enjoyed the approach.
@@DIYVideoStudio I think it is either a setting or connection issue from the Panasonic. I'll let you know if I resolve it
@@DIYVideoStudio I typically film at 4K. But adjusting the camera setting to 1080p, then this system works. Do you know if the USB Camera PRO supports 4K filming? Thanks.
@@fafaegregory The video capture cards I used in the video will take a 4K video input but then output 1080p video. That works with the Pro app (only displays/records up to 1080p). But when trying the Elgato 4K capture card (that outputs 4K video), the Pro app often displays a blank screen but when it does work it again displays/records at 1080p. I've used both the Canon EOS R and R6 with 4K output connected the way I show in the video and the video shows up on the Pro app, but as mentioned, the video is 1080p by the time it gets to the phone. Obviously there's something different happening with your Panasonic, but I hope you can get it to work to your satisfaction.
@@DIYVideoStudio I do appreciate your reply and the information. Thank you. I'll try to find a solution.
Doing this now with my R5, and it sucks that I have to go this route for such a high-end camera when the R6MKII can go direct to usb-c
Although the R5 was released in 2020 (along with the R6), it is still a stunning camera. However, as you say, it sucks that it can't link directly to a phone via USB-C like the R6 MkII and presumably the soon to be launched R5 MkII. If I had the spare cash right now I would pre-order the R5 MkII because of the new features it offers, although a second hand R5 would also be tempting since the price is sure to drop soon.
@@DIYVideoStudio yeah I got it in a nice discount last september, so I'm not looking to make another big purchase. Might get the MKII next year and then keep the R5 as a second body.
Great overview, I am doing exactly as you described, lots of EF-S lenses to experiment with on my new Canon full frame mirrorless. Thank you and God bless.
@@eyeidea I'm glad the video has been helpful 🙂
I just released a video of my custom k669d if you want to check it out.
Thank you! Question: I have learned how to use my Zoom H5 as an exterior mic for my iPhone 13 using the usb port on the H5 for data transfer. . However, the H5 uses up the AA batteries pretty fast. It would be nice to somehow use the usb port for data and power at the same time. Is that possible? .... either using AC power or a power bank for power??? Thanks... Tom
I've got every single piece of equipment you use and the app still isn't recognizing the camera!
Thank you for valuable information ❤
@@Platinium_trophy You're welcome.
My vintage lens can only be focused in short range and I can’t take landscapes. Is this my adapter’s Fault ?
@kianasultan Possibly. It's usually much easier to adapt vintage lenses on to mirrorless cameras than DSLRs, but you need an adapter that gives the correct flange distance. The adapters that usually cause problems are the thin metal rings that just convert the lens to your camera's lens mount. That is the type I have for my 50mm Praktica lens and the flange distance is a little off, resulting in an inability to focus to infinity.
answered my exact question, thank you.
great video. how did you achieve the heavy vignette look considering that you’re not able to disable the crop? also, is there a work around to disable the crop? i would like the heavy vignette look for some creative filmmaking. thank you 🤗
Bravo, excellent video. Can I connect the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the same way, and which application do I need for that?
thanks! May I ask you what camera do you use for that particular shooting?
I think I shot this video with my Samsung A53-5G smartphone because of the subject of the video. However, more generally, I shoot with either my Canon EOS R or R6 full frame mirrorless cameras.
@@DIYVideoStudio thanks 🙏 I think I will use phone as well. I don't see much difference.
@@DIYVideoStudio excuse me, May I know that kind of microphone do you use in that video. It sounds pretty decent.
Thank you!
Very good informative video...Thanks you answered my ?'s !
@James-tt7vg Thank you. Just as an update, Canon has just released a new battery, the LP-E6P, for its R5 Mk2. It should be backward compatible. Canon says it features higher continuous power and 2 times the amperage.
Thanks, very useful information for photographer.
I think I'm dumb as hell, what if your streaming amd not recording would it be turned off

I need to record a boom as well as lav mic at the same time. What's the best way - Boom in Input 1 and Lav in 3mm input?
Thanks for the review. They have a new update for the software that has that extra EQ settings. I have ordered the Maono PD400X after some research. Can't wait to try it out :D What Boom arm/ Shock mount would you recommend.
Hey buddy, I just ordered this microphone too. First off, thanks for sharing your opinion with everyone. Secondly, I'm really worried about background noise. I currently have a condenser mic that picks up the sound of the air conditioner and the cars on the street. Sometimes, it even captures someone talking loudly or on the phone outside my window, the concerned voice of a mother, or the annoying cry of kids. That's why I ordered a dynamic microphone to hopefully get less noise. I'd love to hear your experience since you've been using the mic for about twelve days now. I'd also be really happy if other folks who have used this mic could share their thoughts on how well it reduces noise.
Nice video! May I ask, do you apply 50% strength every time for Acrobat podcast? Or do you test and it might change to 60% for example ?
I often play with the percentage based on my recorded audio. In some cases, I have left it at the default 90% (usually if the audio is "rough") but will normally shift it down to where the AI has made the audio sound good enough. That's often around 50-70%. It all depends on the audio you're starting with.
Does the app also provide video playback? And does it also do live display while filming a video?
Deu certo muito obrigado
You're welcome
You're welcome
I've been using the Adobe Enhanced Speech for a few months now and it's great! I also tested w/ different mics including a Blue-Yeti and my cheap $20 Logitech headset/mic and they all sound the same in the end. I think the cost is only $10 USD monthly after the 30 day free trial... Well worth it!
@RoadVoices I agree with you. Although it's not always perfect, it's quick and does a great job that allows me to create content more quickly, irrespective of the mic I'm using. Although I'd love to own the kind of microphones I used to use at the various radio stations I've worked for, there seems to be little point in spending all that money when this service provides such a good result at little cost.
I'm struggling to learn everything I need to record voiceovers over video for tutorial purposes. It's overwhelming between trying to find equipment, setting it up, and adjusting controls. Thanks for the direct to the point instructional. Cables ordered before the video was through.
Glad to hear the video was helpful
Very useful, thanks
Thanks for leaving a comment 🙂
A couple of years ago I picked up an old R8 to solve this problem. It works fine and I'm glad I have it, but it is far less portable than the H4n. Not sure how often I'll use this hack, but I definitely see a use case. Thanks.
I'm glad the video was of use.
Awesome tutorial 👍 But anyway, is there a way to fix headphone out noise on the H5?
Thank you. If you're getting noise in the headphones it's either because of mic pre amp noise due to turning the record level up high because of using a low output microphone or there's a fault somewhere. If it's mic pre amp noise, try to borrow a high output condenser microphone to see if that stops the high noise level. If it does, you can either get a condenser mic or buy an inline pre-amp. The latter will cost about $50 and boost the mic level by about 28dB, allowing you to turn the record level done on the H5 and therefore lower the noise from the H5's mic pre amps. However, if there is a fault it could be your headphones (try using another pair), the headphone jack socket, or a fault in the H5. If it's a fault on the H5 you'll need to get it serviced. Also, make sure you're using a set of headphones with a TRS jack (two black rings on the jack) and not a TRRS jack (three black rings on the jack). I hope that helps.
Thanks !!!!
You're welcome
I must say I’m really glad I found your video. I was on the verge of buying a monitor ! So I got all the bits required and fantastic ! Everything works as it should. Except anything to do with touchscreen. I can use the zebra peaking false colour etc. but I have too change settings on the camera buttons. But I’m not disappointed. It’s just great too have a big monitor. Believe me, the Sony RX0 mkii needs it. It doesn’t seem to want to let me shoot stills though ? I’ll need to look into that. Thanks
I'm pleased you've found the video helpful. You're right, you have to use the controls on the camera, but at least it works. Good luck.
What I'd recommend instead of the corded cable, I'd recommend a micro-HDMI to HDMI (female) converter and a short (50cm) HDMI cable. It has roughly the same profile.
Thanks for the comment.
Hi. With this setup, does it also save recorded video and stills to the cameras sd card ? Thanks
Although you can record to the phone, that's not really what I would use this setup for, since you'd be limiting yourself. Yes you can record to the camera's SD card (providing you use the correct setting in the camera's menu), and that's what I do when using this setup with my Canon R and R6. I hope that helps.
this is fake. there is no "tittle" or "tags" in windows 11 property menu. Stop sharing misinformation
Right click on the image or video file and then choose "Properties" to open the file properties panel. Then choose the "Details" tab. You'l find the Title and Tags field in the Description section..
